It was the whole batch Stusco. Every Dunlop runner had the same issues and had to be withdrawn from the final races. The first pic is Hickys bike, after he had just broken the lap record. The second is Michael Dunlops Dunlop delaminating while cranked over at high speed. Scary!

Jamie Cowards team protesting about Richard Coopers bike and getting him disqualified has caused a lot of bad feeling. Coops won the races fair and square.

Didn't they win the appeal then ?

a brilliant week with massive crowds and for a change great weather....the tyre thing was scary watching bits of rubber being fired at spectators!!!!
from what i gather on the protest thing coops has been removed from the results , pretty sad really that the engine builder who complained has major sour grapes because Ryans bike won fair and square.

Take a look on Richard Cooper's Facebook page, it's public so you don't need to be a Facebook user.
In amongst the general messages of support there's some posts about what the modifications were and the regulations that were broken. Parts of the frame had been removed and the frame or one with the same modifications had previously failed scrutineering at the TT.

If I was spending a huge amount of money on a bike, I would like to think that all mods and work on it are ok regarding the regulations of that class. I would be pissed off if it was proved to be modified outside of the specifications... and subsequently removed from the results. Dam hard on the rider... he rode superbly

Richard rode his heart out and ended up getting a kick in the teeth for it.” Farquhar said he has been using the frame on the Kawasaki raced by Cooper for a number of years, which was the same frame on Derek McGee’s KMR Kawasaki when the Mullingar rider finished second in the Lightweight race at the 2018 Isle of Man TT. “I’ve been using that particular frame for five years,” added the Dungannon man, who has been a driving force behind the success of Supertwin racing at the major road races and on the Irish national scene. “Derek McGee finished second on it at the Isle of Man TT, with that exact bike. The TT sticker is still on the frame, which you get when you go through scrutineering at the TT.

It would be nice to see some photos, all I've seen is claims from each side. However as the protest was upheld I'm inclined to believe that the rules were actually breached. Really harsh on the rider, not his fault and given the lead he had he probably would have won on any of the to 10 bikes, but you've got to do something when rules are breached.

I think that the rules need a revamp as the class started as a relatively affordable way to go racing but people are spending fortunes now I mean how much is a Paton 30k plus and they’ve just increased the engine capacity to 700cc meaning everyone is going to have to change their engine to be competitive. Lee Johnston’s 659cc Aprilia looked slow compared to the other bikes and he’s a small bloke. Such a shame as the class should be all about the rider not the bike.

Steve Parish saying they had tiny little engines. I thought what about all those TZ/RS 125 and 250's there used to be in Irish road racing? 650/700cc is not a small engine.

Everytime he strips it he hacksaws a bit more off it 😁 Allegedly 😁
