Cos I know some of you like these kind of things (and I do). 2 Litre Capri Laser. Originally silver, now orange (obviously) and fitted with a 3.0L V6. Full, down to bare body shell, restoration by a guy I work with and his son.

Thats very nice. That colour looks really well on a Capri. They have a poster in their garage of an orange Capri. I think it was a centre spread of a magazine. They decided to do a replica of it. The guy is doing the same kind of restoration on an MG Midget, a yellow one. That one's about 99% finished. I'll get a photo of that one too. Weird thing isn't it, this Capri must have been on the road about five or six years when most Capris were riddled with rust before their first MOT and this one doesn't have a mark on it. There is actually a MK1 Escort knocking around Hull that's the same colour as the Capri.

My 2nd car after my mk2 escort was a red 2.0S, great cars π I had a brief ride in the back of one in about 1973. A ride in any car then was like a ride in a limo. We never had a car at the time. The first car my Dad bought was a Reliant Regal, the forerunner of the Robin, at around about that time. My Brother in Law used to use his Dad's 3.0L Capri to visit my Sister. I always remember the V6 rumble from the exhaust as he used to leave. I knew he'd been banned for drink driving and asked him years later how he got insured on that thing. He confessed that he never was!

The biggest surprise is they managed to get over the speed bump and into the car park without leaving the exhaust behind.

My mate is in the process of restomodding his metallic blue 2.0 s capri ,sorry i only have one pic That's nice and clean. They originally put it on the road with the 2.0 engine in then swapped it to the 3.0. I think they have two of the 3.0 engines.

He had no V5 and no reg No. He found an old faded tax disc with half a reg on it and managed to find out the rest by trial and error using the DVLA web site. I'm going to push for a spin in it.

A few weeks ago a lad took a wrong turn and ended up outside my house in a Hillman Imp. It sounded amazing so I went for a chat with him. It was running R6 carbs and had a GSXR Micron tail pipe. He said it went like a bullet and I didn't doubt him!

I think they are a similar thing to a Caterham. He used a ZX900 engine. Those engines were so cheap at the time he had a couple. Last time I saw him he had a ZX10 engine in it. He used the early R1 standard silencer on it. His MK was very green π

The guy who built this is not the smallest person I know π. His lad is on the big build side as well. I didn't see them in it when they brought it to work but I heard that it looked like that kids toy where you push the man's head down and the car shoots forward.

Great looking Capri just need an rs2000 and you can start your own professionals tribute It started life silver so just like one of the ones in The Professionals. I don't think they could afford an RS2000. They could be taking on commissions now that they are signing on. π
