Hi all,
I've been reading posts and getting help from the forum by stealth, which isn't right so I've done the proper thing and joined, so just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
I had a 31k back in the 80's, brilliant times...............genuinely surprised I made it into the 90's, enough said
I always wanted to get another PV and, at the time, found one almost instantly on eBay fairly close to home, so Β£600 later there it was in the garage, in a bit of state but it was a powervalve and it ran, so all goodish. My intention was to get it back to how my 31k was, with bikini fairing and belly pan but first investigations showed frame number 077xxxxx - an N1 according to the list in the Haynes manual (not immediately obvious by sight!), better still the engine number matched but that's where it ended. Bits of F2, wrong clocks, wrong headlight bracket and damaged headstock - found when I went to put the lower bearing race in after the frame had been powder coated - that'll be lesson No.1 learned then! So I did the decent thing - stripped it into it's component parts, put it in boxes......and had two kids.
16 years later I'm making a start at putting it back together as the model it is. Frame has been jigged (was slightly out apparently but now nice and straight) and headrace fixed and powder coated for the second time. Over the period, I managed to find clock bracket and clocks and other bits and bobs and am now slowly working through it, including making up a new loom and updating and restoring the tired bits, of which there are plenty.
It's an ongoing project done for the enjoyment - it's taken 16 years to roll my sleeves up, so it certainly won't be a rush to the finish line!
Anyway, that's me. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, be great to see pics even of boxes of bits. Post 10x you can access the wanted forum and loads of knowledge on here. Some on here build a bike in weeks others in years, so no pressure post in the rebuild section we love to see them coming to life.
