Not seen the 'ethanol scam' mentioned here. Just watched a video where research suggests that more CO2 is released from the soil (previously stored by the plants and trees) than oil production/burning. Ethanol is a Multi billion dollar industry with very heavy lobbying and dirty politics. Bill gates has recently bought swathes of land. Elon Musk just roasted him for pretending to be green, as the ex Microsoft nerd has a half a billion dollar short on Tesla, a green tech company.

It's a good scam though. It is far easier to fool someone than it is to convince them they've been fooled. Never more so in the past 2 1/2 yrs. Grow for fuel...while some starve..... neat eh?

I did a year on the environment as the last part of my Open University degree - that was in 1997 and everything I read regarding likely global climate changes has happened. Warmer, drier winters in the northern hemisphere with short bursts of locally torrential rain in late summer and autumn leading to severe flooding, more powerful typhoons in the southern hemisphere, glacial melting in the Himalayan mountains etc etc. The coursework would have been written thirty years ago now and the books I read made it quite clear that changes needed to be made immediately on worldwide carbon emmissions to make any real difference on long-term global average temperature increases, and that if air and sea temperatures increased by more than two degrees the amount of carbon released from the ground through natural processes would exceed total global industrial emmissions. A huge volume of methane is now released annually as permafrost in the Arctic Circle melts - over a 20-year period methane is 80 times more potent at warming than carbon dioxide - and permafrost melting is probably already in a self-feeding cycle that can never be stopped, with the amount likely to be released this century as it continues to melt being enough to push global average temperatures 2 degrees higher than 1992 levels. All the talk of 'keeping 1.5 alive' at the Cop26 conference in Scotland last year was utter bollocks. Governments worldwide already know that temperatures will go up by more than 1.5 degrees whether carbon emmissions are reduced or not. Burning wood pellets in power stations always was a stupid idea - Drax burns 7,500,000 tonnes of pellets annually, with work almost completed that will allow the figure to increase to 10,000,000 tonnes. Ten million tonnes a year transported from north and south America in bulk cargo ships that burn bunker fuel in their engines. Crazy.

Watched a program years ago about ethanol production and farming
The ethanol producers were paying more for corn than the food suppliers so the food prices were being driven up and supply was short
The whole emissions thing is skewed and tainted by whatever they are trying to prove
Cars get a hard time cause it's easier to blame them and make us pay the costs rather than it affect the economy or businesses they have invested in

Did you know when Al Gore was born there were 5,000 Polar Bears . There are only 25,000 Left Now . Could all of this Global Warming / Climate Change have just been invented by a certain Government to decimate other Countries industries and economies . Oh ,i may have asked this before , but has anyone else noticed how the Sun is bright White and not Yellow when we were children .

Try watching Soylent Green. That's an eye opener if fiction becomes reality.

Regarding climate meltdown and global warming.... 10000+ yrs ago there was a mile of ice above my head. I never hear anything about this when the outraged are ranting about human impact. There is human impact upon the world, only an idiot would deny that we are doing no harm! But its the level of damage we are doing measured against mother nature that is the talking/cancelling point. And anyone who questions the rhetoric is immediately deem an idiot and cancelled (nothing new there saddly.....) co2 levels were at one point 2500ppm and dropped to 350ppm. It's an interesting read. (The carboniferous epoch) It will all be meaningless worry for us though...if yellowstone erupts...you will have a grandstand view/death of global warming for real...innit.

Isn't the thing that drives ethanol being used to dilute petrol purely the rule/regulation or law that says 10% of petrol to be from renewable sources? Everything the production of this renewable content leads to was never given a lot of thought I'm guessing. It's like playing chess but only thinking about the move you are making and never any further forward.
