Cheers mate. The Rimmer Bros website is on my bookmarks. I need a few small bits. None are cheap!

I've just listed my Suzuki truck on eBay and the first (of many) queries was the usual 'how much to buy it now'. Make me an offer...and he did. £2K. Shame you can't swear on eBay. I did reply nowhere near and he said really??? t**t.

A lad on the Suzuki forum is very keen and he's read the build thread. All 80 odd pages of it! So hopefully it'll go to him and I know he'll look after it. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185416767203Alex

You know what? I didn't even bother seeing it. After being in the Hove car nothing else will compare really.

Looks like I'll be going to see Lora after all. Just had an email. The Hove's car original owner has made an offer to buy her back from Clive (I had been warned about this but didn't expect anything to happen). He's offered more than the original asking price and I simply cannot compete with that. Totally gutted. But these things happen I guess. Going to get a bottle of red now and stop thinking about it all.

Odd day today but a happy one in the end. My truck is on eBay and I got a message this afternoon. A chap who says his cousin had a Suzuki just like mine and he wants to buy it now as a present for him. We agreed a price and both of them came over earlier to collect it. Imagine our shock as it turns out the cousin was the very same bloke I bought the truck off...12 years ago!! He was over the moon and couldn't believe it. Neither could I! So she's gone back to Dover whence she came to be brought back to life by a very happy chap. On another plus note the chap asks how much for my antiques...I told him and he says he'll be in touch and come back with his very large van. Re-sult. Off tomorrow to see Lora. I'll let you know what happens.

Funny how life can slap you down, and then offer you a hand up again Great news on the truck, and hopefully on the antiques, leaving an empty garage for...

No never experienced that... a slap down has always had a punch in the bollox follow up. Life's a box of chocolates.... you are getting the peanut crunch next

I am over the moon mate. Been going over her this evening and all that needs doing right away is new coolant. Old stuff clearly been there a while! Also checking all the old MOTs and her mileage of 43,000 is correct. Amazing for a car made in 1967. You'll see her for yourself soon enough no doubt!

Wahoo! Looks superb.
As we said before, a LORa car for the money... and Lora is a good name anyway. These are just lovely looking cars and she looks the biz in your pics.
43k miles, wow.
I bet she feels tiny and low in traffic compared to the modern boxes whizzing around you. I remember waiting traffic in my old Caterham near where i live on a busy 3 lane (each way) road and i was looking at all these lug nuts and thinking wow im so small lol
Whats the plans? Run for the summer and see whats needed? some lovely sunny days ahead theyre thinking arent they?

She is so tiny. Bum literally on the deck. But amazing vision all round with the hardtop on. There are a few niggles that need sorting now (ish). Squeaking from the offside bonnet latch, rad needs draining and new coolant. Indicator light isn't working and so on. Going to use her this summer and get bits when I can afford them. Carpets need changing. But it's all nothing serious. Off for a blat now!

The bonnet squeak is probably a rubber 'bung knob thing' that the bonnet rests on thats fallen apart or one thats one its way out and the latch no longer tensions up on it. They used to be cheap to replace Ive done a few lol The other things are nice and simple jobs for a Sunday morning it sounds like. Good plan to just use and find out what she tells you that she needs. As a woman from the 60s she will be bound to complain at some point... ahem... lol
