almost done now just need to get it painted and chain fitted. I bought it 12 months a go from a guy in wales, he done a lot hard work on it but I think he lost interest in it. Its a 31k frame with F2 loom and engine rebuilt and F2 wheels and swingarm forks etc.. engine gots tuned barrells on std bore with Mick Abbey pipes, so should go well. One small problem is it loses charge over night any ideas? Also any body know of a painter in the Northampton area? Can't wait to get on it and thrash it. Jessy.

Sounds like it might have summat earthing out on the wiring if its draining the battery. Put an ammeter on the battery and check the reading, keep it on and remove fuses one by one, if the reading changes when you take out a certain fuse that the area to look at wiring wise. I imagine it will be either dead easy or the complete opposite.........dont like wiring much me.

With the ignition off check the brown wire from the ignition switch which goes to the three fuses with a voltage meter, all three fuses should be dead, if so the only thing connected to the live before the switch is the regulator/rectifier try unplugging this and see if the battery still goes dead. If it does you have a short between the battery and the ignition switch, if not the reg/rec is faulty. If the wiring is shorting between the battery and switch, take out the main fuse and see what happens, this will tell you if its between the battery and fuse or fuse and ignition switch.
Hope this helps a bit Cheers Nick ;D

Are those not the "Early" heavier wheels. Was it the F2's ( '86 and newer) that had the Lighter non holes in the spokes wheels? (UK got a 'unique' model numbering / id system on these)

Those are the early wheels. Due to the fact that I am 1)sad ,and 2)was bored yesterday I weighed both the early wheels and F2 wheels I have . The weights without discs were LC2 front 10kg rear 10kg. F2 front 8.1kg /rear 10.5kg. Both wheels were fitted with tyres

Interesting.. But tires can vary widely in weight as well . Were those all the same tyre type/brand ? I ask as there is a weight difference on the rear wheel (castings) as well

It could be as simple as a bad battery Have a look and see if you have a white cell .

I'll check what tyres were on the 31k wheels when I'm next down the garage but they are fitted with tubes. The F2 wheels are fitted with bt45's and no tubes

Tyres on the lc2 wheels are Dunlop 100/90 front and Cheng shin 100/90 rear. Is there a list anywhere of comparitive weights and interchangeability (is that a word?) between the different models?. Would be a useful thing.
