I have a bike in the house, all in bits though !
My old room at my moms was my spares storage for years but had to empty it and trying to cram stuff around the house was tricky and the other halfs tolerance of anything bike related hit zero LOL

I currently have in my new man cave both my buell and my Lc until I can afford the new garage. Luckily my man cave is 6x6m so plenty of room. Unfortunately there isnβt room for my bike ramp so thatβs still in the old garage. Another guardian reader?

"the jury of Guardian readers" says................ WaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahAAAAAA!
The champagne sipping, oyster eating toffs have spoken....they say no no no no no!
In other words it's a yes from me, if an upside down urinal is art then a bike is, and I've got a shitted bed as an art installation in my bedroom.

This champagne quaffing socialist said yes π, however I did tell Mrs V that it was a Jackson pollack (or that may have been her reply?)

That's the plan here. The LC is coming into the lounge to be rebuilt. I had to ask permission first...thankfully I said yes.

Iβd say yes, the lounge would be perfect - nice and warm, easy access to the fridge / kettle / beer / food, the low pressure vapour blast cabinet (aka the dishwasher), the oven to cure paint - only problem is Iβm on the second floor (no lift either).
I could see me doing a ship in a bottle sort of build taking individual bits up piece by piece over time and then once finished thinking βbollocks I canβt get it downstairsβ.

My garage is part of an extension on the side of my house. I converted it into 2 rooms - an office and a half size garage. Raised wooden floor over the original concrete with carpet tiles, 3" battened walls with 18mm chipboard and rockwool insulation. It's got the biggest radiator in the house, plus the boiler is in there. I put up a false ceiling and the aluminium roller shutter door is twin wall with insulation between. I hung pics on the wall, and even wallpapered it, so it feels like a proper room rather than a draughty cold garage ! It often gets too hot in there and I have to turn the rad off. Just wished it was bigger as I cant get a bike ramp in

When I was younger there was a guy down the road from us who kept his bike in the house. His view was it kept it safe from the thieves and nice and warm next to the fire. One morning after spending an hour watching the fire brigade dousing the remnants of his house and gathering up what was left of his furniture which was scattered across the street I decided that keeping the bike in the house was not such a good idea. Strange how incidents like that can shape your future. John π

I did have one of my bikes in the front room a while back which was very nice to look at and much nicer than most of my furniture!
However last year there were a few houses local to me that were broken into, so I moved the bike to a much safer location away from my house. As these scum wouldnt even know what they had stolen let alone what its really worth £££ and it would have been lost forever. Its a shame as I dont get to see it that often now, but better safe that sorry.
Best regards Johnny C.

She moaned about bikes in HIS flat then calls it HER house. My mate had his SP2 in the living room for a couple of years. His Mrs was quite happy about it....we thinkπ€ He had the house before he had her. Simple really.
Since the lads left home we've had two more spare rooms both with fitted wardrobes in. One of them is slowly filling with LC bits as they get bought or refurbished. I'm not actually sure if the Mrs. knows or not to be honest. Eventually there will be a full LC there, just not in one lump.
Back when he was 17 another lad had his RD200 in his bedroom in bits. He rebuilt it then lowered it down the stairs on a rope with the help of a couple of mates. His front door was straight onto the street, the stairs straight behind the door and his bedroom directly at the top of the stairs.

I've got a pair of new Allspeeds hanging in the wardrobe in the spare room inbetween some jackets
Waiting for the wife to find them π
I've told this before but when I was 15 or 16 a mate and I built an MT5 in his bedroom
It was a split level town house and his bedroom was beside the front door.
When finished he discovered it wouldn't make the turn out the bedroom to the front door
Only one thing to do. Out the bedroom into the hall then into the lounge, round the lounge, down the stairs to the kitchen and out the back door
His dad was sitting with a beer watching the telly. Should have seen the look on his face π€£

My mate and I did some work on his X7 in his Grandma's kitchen which was tiny and had a mat on a tiled floor. When we were finished he started the bike up and started doing a short burn out. The mat flew out of the door and into the yard and he left a big tyre mark on the tiles. He just covered it back over with the mat and off we went.

I have a distant memory of starting a scooter up in my bedroom at my parents house. Canβt remember if I built it in there though?
I do remember spraying one in that bedroom though while my parents were out.
I also remember my dad asking why there was a scooter frame in the loft?

Lofts are fair game, anything goes.
I had three LCs in the loft at my last house, all in bits though.

The mt5 was started in the house π¬
Feckin stank but then we had sprayed all the bodywork and engine in his bedroom
We learned a big lesson on that bike. It had been run out of oil but another mate had an mtx 50 that was let's just say was subject to a theft insurance claim but still existed π
We swapped the mtx motor into the MT cases and were eager to see if it ran but the bike was way off getting built
We bolted on the exhaust, carb and loom and hooked up some fuel in a bottle
So engine sitting on the bedroom floor he prods the kickstart and it bursts into life
After about 10 seconds of exuberance and the room filling with me smoke we both realise it needs switched off but no ignition or kill switch and the carb still full of fuel
Mate has the brilliant idea of pulling the plug cap off so puts one hand on the head and pulls the cap off with the other hand
Now you wouldn't think a 50cc engine would take long to stop from the few thousand revs it was doing but it seemed to take ages as I watched him fry π
