They need to look down the end of a sawn off shotgun if they like wearing balaclavas.

That is scary. Do you think he deliberately targeted your place Stu or just randomly trying doors. A former workmate of one had a similar thing. Came home from work, dropped the keys on the shelf near the door and stuck the kettle on. Took his jacket off and noticed the front door ajar. Went over to close it thinking he must have left it open just to see his 3 week old Audi A4 zooming down the road with a white Focus right behind it. Tracker was found in the forth and Clyde canal. You were lucky that guy legged it. Some poor folk have been stabbed on their doorstep trying to stop bast@rds like that stealing their stuff Be careful buddy. John

A few years ago we had someone just come in our back door, grab something off the worktop and go back out. 6pm on a Sunday. We only knew because a Woman across the road came over and said she'd seen him. Turned out he'd nicked a tin of stale biscuits waiting to be thrown away. We used to lock the door just before bed but we started locking it all the time after that. He'd done loads of houses in the area that weekend.

Tbh stu the video means nowt, keep your keys safe and a baseball bat handy if they want to come in it’s by the doors less likely by windows. I’d also fit a steering lock/wheel clamp nice and obvious make it hard for them and they’ll target someone else sadly. Hopefully they’ll move on.

Just had a flash back to the 90's there with the big bar on the steering wheel 😕
Thought we were safe back in the day with an alarm/imobiliser or the big lock if you couldn't afford to pay the over inflated price
We consider the key stealing to be a recent thing but it just the brass neck and opportunists that is new
Remember the guy that owned a local barber shop that I knew through a mate that always had "nice" cars that were always being stolen. Almost expected them to disappear
Can't remember if it was his WRX or STi that attracted a knock at the door one night in his nice private estate
Bloke in a ski mask and sawn off shotgun 😳
As an aside I remember in the early 90's going to a works do at a hotel just outside Newcastle. We were all gathering in reception before dinner and one of the office girls from down south drives an Escort RS turbo into the car park
The Geordie area manager tell her he wouldn't leave that in the car park. She laughs it off
By 9 o'clock it was gone 🙄

Hopefully they won't be back mate.
Think that's the good thing about the video door bell, at least you know when some fecker is at your door although not sure if it's like the cctv and tells you when the moths are trying to hump the sensor
Remember in my alarm days you'd get foggers and high powered strobe lights
Watch the feckers try and run away when they are blinded
Probably not allowed that now in case they have epilepsy 🙄

Stu, I really feel for you… know what it’s like to have pride and joy removed from outside your house. My final conclusion was that if you just have off road parking , nice cars are just a pain in the butt…. I just drive bangers now, spent the money on bikes instead. Bikes are still a target obviously, but seems a different type of toe rag and less organised, less ruthless than those who will come after cars.
