Help !!

Hi all
Tried to log in yesterday and the site won't let me ? Keeps saying " can't teach this page"
I've turned off all Firewalls, uninstall anything that may affect connection etc, and now run out of ideas. Cant log in on another pc either, but weirdly my connection still works on my phone ? I can't post anything via my pc, so struggling with my phone at the mo. Anyone else having issues logging on ? I've not changed anything on my pc, so I'm at a loss as to what the problem is ?

Hi mate

i'm not having any probs logging on, has you machine picked up a virus (not joking!), i use a mac and even they can get infected, i had one which just kept re directing me.

If you can see if 'can't teach this page' brings up anything if you type it into google, it may well be a known virus

I generally use my iPhone no problems, I’ve checked on my Mac again no problems.
If you do a search and I assume it is reach not teach? There is quite a bit on Microsoft having problems and how to amend it.

Its really odd. I've not changed anything or done anything different to normal. I can't log in or even re register on my pc or laptop, but I can still access all areas and post using my phone. I hate using my phone though, but without it I can't post even these messages. I've disconnected and reset my broadband, run a virus check and full diagnostic check and tried everything I can think of with no luck. I keep getting "The connection was reset" whatever that means ? Computer is less than a year old and I can still access Facebook, ebay and other bike forums, and upload/download to flikr, so its only this forum ??

Tried a couple of other things but still no luck, so haven't got a clue now ?
Seems odd my wife's laptop gets the same issue. I can't even register with a new account ?
Won't be around much till I get it sorted as I hate using my phone (fat finger syndrome) !!

Hi dusty I run mcafee antivirus which has a free vpn which activates each time I start my pc this prevents logging onto any proboards forums until I disable.not sure if this is your issue but it is mine.

I'm with BT and every so often I get a similar problem. If I switch my wifi router off then back on , all is good. I'm sure you may have tried it. Alternaty reset your PC to a previous date.

I've disabled anything that may interfere with logging on, but still no luck ? Can't access from my pc, from my wife's laptop, and I can't access from her tablet either ? Rebooted my WiFi hub, run an anti virus scan, googled all sorts and still nothing. I've changed nothing at all, so am at a loss as to why I can't log in ??

Can you get onto the internet and other sites on the PC?
When you get into the forum on your phone are you using the house WiFi or your phone data?
It might be a network issue with your provider
FYI I am with BT and no probs.

Dusty couple of Q's

1 What browser are you using\ what operating system you running
2 Do you\Have you changed your PW for any of the sites your having difficulty logging in to
3 Simple connectivity test can you ping the forum IP
4 Try using a wired connection to your router.

Open a command prompt and type the following ping rdlccrazy.proboards.com

C:\WINDOWS\system32>ping rdlccrazy.proboards.com

Pinging rdlccrazy.proboards.com [104.16.7.40] with 32 bytes of data:

You should get a response as above, this will prove you have network connectivity to the site.

If you do save your passwords then it may be Windows is still retaining your old PW, in the search window type "cred" you should see "Credential Manager" have a look at the "Web Credentials" and clear any saved passwords for this site (I presume you know your password).

As it's not allowing you to connect from any of your devices connected to Wifi then try logging in to you router and check it's not blocking anything (your other half may have blocked the site to stop you coming on over xmas period). If you connect your laptop to your Phones Hot Spot does it work?

That was my next thought. Tethering your PC to your phone with router WiFi off.

Every other site i try works, passwords work, everything else is normal. Just this site, when I try to log in, it just won't connect. I'm on Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge. Never had any issues before, and nothing has changed. Only me that uses this pc so not something anyone else has changed either. I've tried logging on using Chrome and that doesn't work. Unplugged the router for over an hour earlier, and still no different.when I click "log in" i get a page saying "The connection for this site is not secure" I'm not very computer savvy as you may have guessed. Cant understand why it won't work ?

Is there not an advanced options under it that if you click on it you can choose whether to trust it or continue to the site anyway

Browsers sometimes do it if the certificate has expired or something like that

On my mobile when I'm out and about it makes me do the "I am not a robot" and select all the buses/cars/boats from the pictures

That's quite a new thing

I know what you mean Steve but I've not got that option appearing. Just got off the phone to Yamark, and he has exactly the same problem - can't log on via his pc but can post via his phone. Surely a Proboards issue ??

Hi Dusty, it just all started working again- it's a miracle .
As a technophobe, not a clue- but I couldn't log on. 
Then, like Senokot, blockage cleared, I can log on (excuse the punn)

I Know jack shit about how putors works, I am as likely to study their workings as I am as likely to study the workings of a mole wrench.... I use both as a tool....

Glad to say it's sorted, and I'm now back on I did an upgrade to Windows 11 - not sure if that was the issue but I'm guessing not. I know Yamark suddenly found he could log in but I was in the middle of the upgrade so couldn't try when he did.

I think it’s got something to do with the new website security settings that have just come on stream

I read something about it a while back, sorry can’t remember where, however I know I had to update browser settings in Chrome

Similar problem with me the last week. Thought it was a dodgy broadband connection which is now ok.
