Hi All, Just wondering is the true going rate for a centre stand about £300 as advertised on fleabay or are these just opportunists. Mine is missing a stand but not missing it enough to pay that . Do they actually fetch that money? Cheers. Gra.

I think I would be doing an extra paper round to save up the £300 if the feedback on the Indian tanks is to go by.

Saw the wanted you posted earlier. Rang a bell and found this old thread….Still looking for one for this bike? Situation hasn’t changed really, the ones Ken Rome had made had to go up in price after the fabricator actually realised what was involved… if you are in that line of work, there’s easier ways to make proper money than fiddling about with stands.
The problem you are facing is that I’m sure there are several folks ( hands up like me) who have a good spare …and even a fixer upper spare… but the whole situation has changed regarding letting go of parts… unless unfortunate situations strike and someone has to literally sell everything they have, there’s really no motivation any more to part with the hard to get stuff… there will probably be another build that needs one and I can’t guarantee I’d be able to find one. Certainly without hassle or even more expense.
If you really want the correct 4L0 item it probably just going to take money. If you just want something to get the back wheel off the ground with then I’ve seen other stands converted . So if you are handy with a grinder and the MIG , then maybe that’s the best option for you, but unfortunately I don’t think there’s any middle ground. A sand blast and a powder coat will make even the scruffy ones look tidy so there’s not a big sliding scale between condition and price.. That’s my two penneth anyway.

On the RDLC crazy Facebook page Nick Dore is having the 125LC ones made, they look spot on, has he been approached?

YBR125 , it’s not a nice solution…. Just something ‘useable’ … i wouldn’t , but if you want a £50 solution then pays your money etc. I guess the attractive aspect is you can buy one for £20, spend a whole Saturday morning messing about , extending , adding a fixing…. For some folks that’s a solution ….

Tbh I fancy one to finish the bike off but it's not too important. I've no need to put the bike on a centre stand and if it's for maintenance I have an abba stand which is better anyway. I can see why people hang on to parts and fair play if that's the way you feel. If one turns up great if not I won't be crying myself to sleep. Hence I've not been looking too hard just putting feelers out.

The chap was called Ken Rome, he delivered it in person. Nice guy but was pis*ed off with his supplier.
