It's not a standard 250c cast rear wheel. Look at the spoke pattern - front is correct, rear should be the same with a disc, so the rear is off something else Dusty

UK C models all had drum rear brakes and I’ve also had them with the cast wheels front and rear .

Cant remember if it was the 400 or the 250 where the wheel type was an option ? I always thought the 400c was the first production bike with cast wheels as standard, but could be wrong ? The rear wheel in that 250 is from something else though. I had a 250C with cast wheels and a disc at the rear ?? Dusty

I had several RD250s and all had a rear disc. Makes me wonder why the LC has a drum!

One thing is for sure, no RD had a cast rear wheel with a drum brake as standard. XS250 did and various aftermarket options. As for why drum on the LC….my money would be on lower cost being principal reason.

From what I remember, the early RD’s including the C model I had with cast wheels and rear drum may have been fitted with ARE wheels, they were popular back then and expensive now.
