Average rarely under 100mbps download and 10mbps upload. To be honest you can do a lot with 20mbps download, you don't really need much faster than that. I've already decided that the bb is going next year at the end of the current deal. Its just an unnecessary expense. The mobile data comes in at around 50mbps where I live. If I don't use the bb at all I only use about 12Gb a month anyway.

Think anything above 30 is fine
Im running 30-40 at home on fibre and about 12 on mobile data at my holiday home
Even on the 12 I can be watching netflix, on my phone, wife on iPad and son on YouTube

27 here, but a lot of the time it's not the speed that you notice, the frustrating delays are often more about stability and latency than maximum speed. If it were an option I'd take the 4mbps connection we had from a small provider years ago over the connection we currently have from Sky or the BT connection we had before it.

As said, nothing wrong at all with 4 meg. Who remembers being on dial up, 56k? At the time it was brilliant just to have it!
And going forward 5G doesn't interest me in the least.

Just come back from an area that gave me 1 mbps download and 2 mbps upload on an iPad with mobile data
It was torture waiting for something to load, even though we had 4 bars of 4G we still only received minimal download speeds
It just about made it impossible to work

According to where you are on the list due to heavy usage the device often switches to 3G, sometimes without you noticing.

I am pretty happy with my Virgin Broadband for work and for streaming (Netflix, SkyQ, Disney+, etc.). However, I also have a backup in the form of THREE 4G router at £22 per month and it’s great for anyone with a good 4G signal but crap traditional broadband. It’s also portable 👍

I used to have lots of problems with all providers using boosters and stuff around the house then someone told me invest in some m4 tp link mesh WiFi get rid of the boosters and I did it’s my own network but using a virgin router , best speeds now full wifi all around the house even in the loft and in the back garden wasn’t cheap but we were always dropping into 4g on our phones before and using data never happens now stream films really quick,

Desktop computer with a landline. Been with BT for 24 years now and the Fibre 1 broadband package is £7.16 a month so I won't be swapping to a different provider. First modem I ever had was supplied by the Open University for a course I did in 1992, a few years before the www and at a time when the only real worldwide networks were university connections. It was dial-up and we got upload speeds of 150bps and download at 600bps which might seem ridiculous now but at the time it was pretty much cutting-edge. First modem I bought was 14400 on a Demon connection but in those days there was still nothing much worthwhile to download .. no flat-earthers either!
