Was a bit windy on Friday/Saturday
I've got a static van in Berwick upon Tweed and had swithered about going down this weekend but I decided last Sunday to close it down for the year
Turns out it was the best decision ever as it turned into carnage
My van seems to be unscathed but other weren't so lucky with damage ranging from panels ripped off and windows broken to vans on their sides or literally blown apart
I know a women who's ยฃ50k van is simply "gone"
Apparently 5 went over the cliff ๐ณ
Luckily no one was hurt

Bit of good fortune there Steve
My dad had a tourer for years and although he went to the same site every year and the van stayed there for months, he always took it away and garaged it every winter.
He always said that if it was a static job, it might not be there in the spring. Shame about the neighbours but glad yours escaped the carnage.

As far as I know there were no injuries
Most evacuated to either the owners lounge or nearby pubs/hotels but some rode it out in their vans. Luckily they were untouched

Sea looks a bit "choppy" Yes, just a little ๐ฌ To put that see into perspective there is a high cliff before the sea so that sea looking so rough is actually quite a bit out so it is ROUGH It's one of the things I love about it. Yes it looks nice on a calm sunny day but it is spectacular when the waves are high Steve

Bloody hell stevie boy. I hope they are just holiday homes not permanent residences for some. That would have been frightening to have been in. Take care matey. ๐ Luckily it is not residential. About 1000 statics on site, just under half owned Luckily it is now shut to holiday makers now and most facilities are shut so park was quiet If it had been a holiday weekend it would be full Makes me wonder how well chained down some were Why else would 1 be gone but the ones either side are fine ๐คจ Steve

My mate was telling me a lot he's seen around here are just sat on axle stands. The place next door to where I work make the chassis for caravans. I'm about 3 miles from the East Yorkshire coast so on the outer edge of the really bad wind and we had stuff blowing over like big planters that haven't blown over before. We have a tree about 20' tall that's very close to my greenhouse and has been dead for a couple of years. Last weekend I cut most of the smaller top branches off it. It would probably have been in my greenhouse today otherwise
