Huge Jim, my brother inlaw surfs there weekly in Lahinch and Bundoran.. He has surfed this side as well...

And no I don't surf, it's got to be 30 C before i go swimming and that's the water temperature
I did see surfers at Dingle Bay and I thought they were mad, freezing cold and not a lot of swell and their board of choice were Long Boards

I surfed at white sand bay StDavids. With a small kayak. I enjoyed the ocean swell a lot!

I have surfed growing up in northern California, and now here in Oregon since I was about 15yo.
I simply cannot imagine riding waves of that size in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic

I've surfed in the US, OZ Ireland and the UK...(not for some time now though) and I've never seen waves that big. You need massive balls to have a go at something like that and in our waters mine would be the size of a couple of petit pois.
