Well I’m officially going to try and start a build thread on this lc, I’ve learned a lot from this forum and I’m still kind of lc illiterate so please point out my mistakes if you can! The frame and swingarm are already powder coated and I’ve mounted a set of triples and forks that look the part but will perform a whole lot better than the rusted out spindly little things that came with the bike. I am now in the process of changing the bearings in my tzr front wheel to fit in the new 17” axle (how did we ever use 12mm axles)! I would like to go to a 320mm brake rotor (the tzr wheel only has a single 290mm) it looks like I can make the speedo drive work although it will likely read low with the 17” tzr wheel. For the rear end the tzr250 wheel has the same size axle and a forum member put me on to a fzr250 brake caliper mount that I picked up on eBay, but first I have to get the swingarm mounted so I need a new rear shock and some swingarm bushings. I have been trying to set up a Company so that I can ship stuff from Norbo to me (through a Company account setup at the post office) and; that will happen because he has stuff that you just can’t get anywhere else, in the meantime I have found a place in the States called Economy Cycle; he has bronze swingarm bushings for air cooled bikes so it looks that they will also fit the lc (if the swingarm pivot bolt is the same diameter)? Does anyone know offhand?

John @ Economy is easy to deal with, but hes not as experienced with the LC as the USA didnt get them of course. The collar is the bit you want to get the ID sizing of for bronze bushes, not the pivot bolt - that just holds the parts together, the bearing (which is solidly held in the swingarm) rides on the collar which is pulled tight against the frame and does not move. If you want to know what other bikes some parts fit, try this : put the part number in your fave online source and often they list other bikes it will fit, ie CMSNL is good as the LC is in there: www.cmsnl.com/products/bush-4l0_9038622106/See the lower down part of the page. It only says the LC models. This also gives you a supersceed part number if there is one, in this case its 90386-22127. you can google and ebay that number etc FWIW Yambits sell a needle roller kit for this, but the needles are not captive and the seal and other parts did not fit well in my experience (see my 251LC thread). If norbo or NK sells a kit it will be better for sure, ive fitted NK kits before and theyve been much better fit/finish. Make sure your collar isnt rusty and pitted, this will kill any bearing quickly, easier to fit a new one now than later. Aftermarket collars are usually ok if you cant find OEM. And... fit new of very good end cap seals.

John, what do you mean by the “collar”, the end caps? here is the specs on John’s bushings So from what I understand the axial load exerted by the nut on the swingarm pivot bolt is the important force? and all the parts squeezing the swingarm between the frame?

He also sells this But it’s also listed for the air cooled bikes as he admits he knows next to nothing about lc bikes. So I probably need to know the distance between the frame where the swingarm sits? Or just order from Nigel until I get my Company set up (to order from Norbo).

Swingarm pivot is the same between ac250/400 and 250/350lc. Hence an lc swingarm slots straight into an aircooled frame for monoshock conversions. Spindle is the same diameter too.

Have a look at the diagram or the parts Charles and you'll see what bits clamp up and stay solid when you do the bolt up and what parts move. its the same with the wheel axles. look/think of it as a cross section.
Re the collar. thats the tube that the bolt runs through and the bearings run on.

I’m finally getting around to this bike in a box, my engine is at a local shop Iantomasi Racing for; pistons and boring, porting and headwork, and a crank refurbishment. I’m trying to figure out what reeds to use with my 28mm carbs and new motor, I’ve been using the search function and come up with: stock yz85 reedcages, vforce v384a from rm100, and stock reeds. The motor is getting what I would call a stage 2 porting job and o-ringed head with a new squish band machined. What is the best power/dollar way to go here?
