I had an RD 250C at the end of the 70's. It developed a fault where once fully warmed-up it became almost impossible to change gear. Instead of getting it fixed, I traded it in.
What would the fault have been?

All I can think of off the top of my noggin is low gear oil level.

It was my 2nd bike so I think I probably looked after the oil. I took it to a bike shop & the owner knew what it'd be, but I can't remember. I still have a momento, - a holed piston, - I was told it should have been subject to a recall for a thicker head gasket....the Dealer wasn't volunteering though....
