Evening all, sorry if this seems like a stupid question but oil level I've been checking with the dipstick screwed in not resting and on the centre stand.
I've just going through the Haynes manual and its says to do it with the dipstick resting on the hole, if its been low on oil could i have shagged the bottom half?
I use putoline light gear oil in both my RS125s and was going to use this it in the 31k unless there is a better option.
cheers

Don't worry, it's highly unlikely it has shagged it
When you think back in the day the oil was crap and you only changed it if you had to open up the engine 🤣

Definitely not too low too cause damage. Oil wise iv'e tried allsorts of oil and they all seem to do their work ok. I mostly use gearbox oil GL4 which is for use with clutches. In my big bore engine i changed it to Silkolene light gear oil as i thought it might help with a slipping clutch problems.
The Putoline oil will be good. I was advised to use this oil but couldnt get any at that moment.

I use exol, as above. Make sure what ever oil you use that it has MA2 spec on it, so won't cause clutch issues.
