Need some help on wiring for an 85 rz 250 Running through my dry build and have stumbled across two issues. First one is the indicators. Lhs flashes normally and cancels. Rhs just stays on solid. Could this be a dud flasher? Second one is more a brain fade issue. Do the head and tail lights only work when the engine is running? At the moment I can’t start the bike to check But have no head or tail lights. I can run power to the globes and they are ok Thanks Mick

Lights should work without the engine running but with the ignition on

Usually as simple as a bad connection at the fuse
Be careful the fuse holders are very brittle, do not try to bend them. A light clean with some scotchbrite or fine sandpaper
As for the indicators check the bulb wattage. Some of the RZ's used 10w indicator bulbs so check the rating on the relay and the wattage of all the bulbs

Steve You are spot on with the fuse block. Legend Battery is getting pretty flat now as I’ve been at this all day. I’ll charge it back up and go after the indicator problem tomorrow. Someone had added an extra wire to the light circuit that threw me for six

Always check the flasher unit, it usually says what is required on the side, certainly oem does.
