My mucker dropped in for a brew last night after he had been out for a run on the bike. This has taken over from his sportster a year or so back and is his daily ride now. He has done about 600 miles this week and cannot get enough of it. 1929 Indian 101 Scout. 750 cc and utterly alien to anything we ride Left throttle, foot operated clutch and hand shift 3 speed gearbox. total loss oil is about the only similarity to ours! Check out the front end, leaf spring suspension We fitted a Vape dynomag to it last year for some reliability and it hasn't missed a beat. Still wouldn't ride one though

3 of my mates have Indians similar to that. Iโve chickened out when they offered me a go. I took my mates Enfield bullet for a mot last week and too much brain power needed for the gears and brakes

I do maintenance on a new Harley Liberator from 1942 and just like mentioned above it is bloody scary to ride.

Excellent Indian, very cool ๐๐ Does the oil and the fuel go in on the side of the tank?ย Yes Arrdy Oil and fuel go in the main tank separately of course. . You can see both caps on the tank front one fuel, rear one oil. Just like a 2 stroke tank. The little plunger at the back works like an old Primus stove or paraffin blow lamp. A couple of pumps puts a bit of pressure in the tank and oil flows down to the โpumpโ. From there it is worm fed into a quill feed for the crank and splash/mist to the remaining engine internals. Anything which isnโt burnt off goes out via a breather onto the chain. Just like a 2 stroke you just top the oil up when needed and the old Indian doesnโt actually use an awful lot. No engine oil change required as you are always topping up with fresh SAE40. Primitive simple under stressed side valve motor just plods away and skips along quite briskly for a 92 year old. ๐ John
