Bloooooerchhhhhhh! A nut aint a nut unless it's green... a pistachio is both though...
If you dont believe me ask the Green passivate Society. (they are the ones sat in the corner boiling in their own urine at the mere sight of a stainless fixing...wearing tank tops, and more than likely something beige coloured)

Anyone had a go at passivating new BZP fixings? Could be handy on say, side cases.

Yes I've had a bash with varying results A lot won't take it at all, other stuff takes the colour but not on the sharp edges Best result was from dipping them for 5 - 10 seconds in acid to soften the existing passivate layer and give it something to bite into Steve

Nice one Stevie. Was it you who posted up a home passivating set up years ago? Might have a go at passivating side casing screws, have some bzp ones.

Yes, think that was me Got all 4 highly toxic colours 😁 Just pop them in the acid till they start to fizz, quick fresh water rinse then into the olive for 1 - 2 minutes. Give them a good jiggle as air tends to get trapped in the heads. I use a sieve Rinse again, shake off the loose water then leave them somewhere warm to air dry over night to let it harden Don't heat them as they discolour Don't wipe them or some will come off Steve
