OK discussed application.... Paint and clear then just lay graphics on top as per OEM. Or Paint/Clear apply graphics and clear over so they appear deep in the paint and are protected. Decided to go with the graphics with clear over for a protected and better look. First color going on..... .

They are just polished. The original ones had a sort of clear coat on them. we didn't go down that road as the clearcoat will just wear off.

I always have a little trouble with leakage on the edge of painting 2 colours, what masking tape and method do you use?

From the pic it looks like he uses Fineline K-Tape Orange....from TCP Global! No Idea of my painters method. He was self taught so who knows?

Bacofoil by the looks of it I usually use fine line tape first, then the masking tape/paper on to that, just make sure it's all pressed down well. BTW I'm not a painter

Bacofoil by the looks of it I usually use fine line tape first, then the masking tape/paper on to that, just make sure it's all pressed down well. BTW I'm not a painter I asked about the foil....He said its perfect for complex shapes as it forms easily into all the nooks and crannies and it doesn't try to push back on the masking tape unlike masking paper. One of the old Painters Tricks of the Trade.

It looks very delicate, I could make a right mess using foil...... always happy to have a go though.

Looks a nice job he's doing, interested to know why he sprayed the red last rather than, white...red...then the decals, must be much harder spraying to a decal without leaving a raised edge??

Looks a nice job he's doing, interested to know why he sprayed the red last rather than, white...red...then the decals, must be much harder spraying to a decal without leaving a raised edge?? His priority after the base coat was get decals in exactly the place the originals were in. We have dozens of pics with all measurements on them. Once the decals were correct then the red can be applied with the correct gaps as per the original paint job. Don't think theres any place on there where the red goes near a decal so I cant see any trouble with raised edges!

Thanks for that, thought the white on the decals overlayed the red paint. I stripped and sanded some panels quite a while ago now (but not a tank), and never looked in detail, but did take some measurements same as you have. will have a more detailed look when I come across them again
