Hi All First post... I'm rebuilding my '82 LC 250 and pretty much have everything but I've never liked the standard pipes that I have, so want something a bit trick. I'd love to have some 250GP (pre MotoGP era) style ones, swept up with end cans, a bit like a TZ. Or even both pipes exiting same side? I've contacted loads of engineers and bike shops, none can help. Can you help and let me have any recommendations that actually fabricate / sell? I've seen Norbo's shop trick parts but don't like the cross-over style. I have been topping up the piggy bank for this...

I'd also say Be careful fitting expansion chambers to a 250
Most of these are designed for the 350 and will work in a 250 but you will lose quite a bit of midrange
Personally I'd look at Gibson for either Allspeed style pipes or the separate silencer style
These were not massive performance pipes on a 350 but should work well on a 250
Also speak to Dave Muttsnuts
Think he was looking at his midrange 350 pipes on a 250 to see how they went on the dyno

In 1985 I fitted a pair of big can Microns to a 250LC, it went well at the top end (indicated 115mph, it indicated 100 with standard pipes), there was no midrange power, a pair of Lomas pipes had a similar effect on my stage 2 350 YPVS, it went from a 125 top speed to 135, with no mid range.

The chamber geometry is fine, it’s just the stinger is too big and not enough mid range back pressure….
