Beautiful bike (66?) had TT pipes on my 1965 west coast import and made it into a desert sled 20 odd years ago. Loved that bike. Beautiful beautiful bike.

This is an East coast hence the colours on the mudguards too (West was plain metal finish, not painted). I can't quite bring myself to put the full pipes & silencers on plus rear foot rests etc as I like the uncluttered look of the TT pipes and open carbs. The Desert Sled is indeed a thing of great beauty..

Changed mine loads, alloy rims, 68 twin leader, alloy guards etc etc etc ended up fitting hi level tr6 pipes with reverse cone meggas as it was just too noisy with the TT pipes. I’d love another, my older brother still has my dads last bonnie a 78 T140 before he moved to jap bikes, bought mine from Clive humphries so probably longer than 20 yrs ago. Desert sleds and flat track is my fave look. I’m a little jealous. 👍

For me these 60's Bonnies and 80's LC's are just the epitome of wonderful & beautiful motorcycles. I have a mega 1250 GS which is like a fast swiss army knife, but the Bonnie just makes you glad to be alive. My RS250 Honda is another thing altogether, but not a diesel so not for here.

Original front brake set up which is actually pretty good now I've set it up well. Rear brake is pants.
