Got to be loads of bikes we’ve owned and regretted selling? Mine a Honda cb1100r early noughties I’ve bought and sold loads before and since that was my greatest sale I regretted.

My last LC for one. My KH250. My little Suzuki SC100. And of course, my first ever bike, the mighty SS70. At the time I needed the dosh for other things. Hindsight? Oh well lol.

Loads of bikes I should have kept, but the big regret was scrapping my Mk1 e-type Jag. I got £200 for it.
Failed MOT & needed loads of welding - just not worth it back then.

RD400, but it would have probably killed me so would never have had some of the other great bikes I have owned since that one.

My Ducati 748S, chopped an R1 in for it in 2000 and thought WTF, once i learned how to ride it i was hooked, had it for 6 years and swapped for a Husaberg FS650, i'd have the Duke back tomorow. Andy.

My first ever rd500. Red/black bike. A reg. I was 18, living in London. The original owner had swarbricks and a mild tune. Exhaust, handle bars, oil and water covers were chromed and it looked class. And I hate friggen chrome!!

My Escort RS1600i.... Caspian Blue, 46k mls, all original bodywork and absolutely mint condition.
Sold it 11 years ago for £6.5k as I just wasn't using it. They're now selling for £20k plus, my biggest regret ever selling it. A couple of years later I decided I really had to buy it back but the guy now wanted..... £15k for it!😡
I've now got a MK3 Focus RS that would blow the old 16i into the weeds but man I still miss my old Escort RSi soooo bad!😩

I guess I should regret selling my RD350R that was mint and low miles, since im restoring RDs... but I chopped it in for a new R1 in 2001 and loved that bike lol.
I try not to regret things in life, Ive never had enough money to have been able to keep things when i wanted something new. But I do regret selling stuff off when i came to Aus. I sold my Tamora and Mk2 Gti 16V Turbo Technics (800 quid car with as much again in wheels and suspension and er, a £5k engine lol) ...and all my bikes but the one i miss most from that lot was my KTM 620SC that's Id SM'd. Loved riding that bike so much!

‘91 TZR250R 3XV.
Sold it to buy an ‘07 Triumph D675, which I sold to buy a shitbox ‘81 RD350LC.
After dumping way too much money into the LC, it’s plainly obvious I should have just did the 4DP porting, Martin77 pipes and big carbs on the 3XV and been done with it.
Now I’m thinking about selling the LC and buying another boring 4T.
Circle of life, I guess.
Edit: forgot about the basket case KH400 in between the Daytona and the LC. Even after many thousands spent it was still shit. Gimme back that 3XV!

My Vf400, loved that bike, the baby of the V4's
I couldn't afford the 350 YPVS at the time so it was the next best thing
It just loved to rev all the way to 12500 rpm when the first bank of cylinders cut out
Top speed a heady 176km/h on a quick blat at 2am in the morning on a flat straight bit of road

There have been one or two regrets, I sold an International Scout II to buy a Jeep Cherokee... big mistake. But the most stupid, with hindsight would be the RD500. I'd had the bugger for years, and just before I came to Aus in 1999 some t**t knocked me off. I got paid out and was left with the bike as an unrecorded write off. It sat in a props store at Yorkshire TV until I came back to the UK in 2000 to sort some stuff out, at which point I collected it and sold it to a mate for the princely sum of a couple of hundred quid. That said... he fixed it up and sold it for a couple of grand, so I believe we both have regrets looking back.

Had mine for 11 years. Fastest accelerating car on the market when I bought it, slower than the new fangled Golf GTI by the time I sold it. progress I suppose. LDH594V Still out there, but white now and quite spoiled, in my opinion.

Best mod I did was to fit an LSD, and to weld a bar across the 1/2 shafts and to the diff housing to try & stop them bending / twisting. Didn't break any more shafts after that. Pic of it in it's new white guise, really don't like the wheel arch extensions www.flickr.com/photos/rallysprott/49993163972

A mate had one for yeeeeaaaarrs GET 885V Very early one, 1600cc, 4 speed box and the small tail lights He ended up turning it into a track day. Tuned 1800 engine. Binned the old mechanical injection and went twin Webers Was a right hoot. Scary sitting over the inside rear wheel cornering with it in the air And that was the local ring road 😂 Steve

Honda vtr1000 sp1 and Lancia integrate Hf evo1 k818 bok , being self employed was difficult to secure finance on commercial premises, selling enabled to buy and own workshop. On reflection in today's valuation I'm not which would be worth more the car or building ? Least I'm rent free.

Found the last pic of it earlier this year. Thats a sad pic. A sad end. Why was it always cold and wet when you went to the scrappy? lol Ive no doubt that these days you cant wander round and pick your own parts in most places but Im sure many of us spent hours on cold winter days stood surrounded by leaning towers of cars, up to our ankles in oily mud scraping iced puddles off cars to get at something with the wrong tools while shivering uncontrollably... Then having to argue with the scary looking hard-as-nails bloke on the desk about its value... happy days! haha.

And not forgetting the huge oily black matted fur, terrifying Alsatian that was always sniffing around when you were trying to undo some parts from inside or under some inaccessible place. Health and safety nightmare. Kids nowadays have no idea on the fun they have missed out on. John🙂
