Any suggestions on how I can beef up security to my garage door ? I bought a garage defender but unfortunately it doesn't fit under the door but if it did I probably wouldn't use it because then it's a trip hazard 😲.

I used deadlocks either side at the bottom, they hid nicely. We discussed it a while back and I may have found the ones i used and posted in there?

I used to have the Autolok Stoppa on my up and over garage door, which was pretty solid and gave me extra piece of mind as well as a visible deterrent. www.autolok.co.uk/product/autolok-stoppa/Now I have a roller shutter door that’s so secure even I can’t get in to my own garage sometimes. 🤣

I have fitted Enfield schlosser dead bolts in the bottom corners of my up and over. The bikes are all chained to ground anchors too, plus it’s alarmed. The front bit of my garage is actually an extension so I also have the original roller shutter fitted to secure the rear.

I pondered this issue for some time a few years ago - the door we had was made up of 3 vertical panels & very flimsy - I guess to keep the weight down... In the end I dismantled it & used the panels to make bi-fold doors (tri-fold actually) - using 50mm x 25mm welded up frames & fixing the panels to the face - looks no different now from outside when closed - but there's 2 deadbolts on top & bottom of each section now on the inside...

If its the type of door, that has rollers running in channels, where the roller at the top of the door sits when closed, there maybe a hole in the runner to place a long hasp padlock through, if not drill a hole and fit one either side of the door to secure the door at the top.
Bottom drill through the door into the floor, and places bolts to secure the bottom from being pulled up.
Deadbolts into the frame on the sides of the doors.
Plenty of things you can do, its an arse that we have to do all this, but it is what it is.
Obviously ground anchors inside, and chain everything to everything else, baby monitors if you can so you can hear if anything is going on, and cctv is good too.

Locks and dead bolts only keep honest people out
A battery operated angle grinder will make short work of any sheet steel, it’ll make a racket yes, if nobody’s home it won’t matter
Neighbourhoods seem to ignore such noises too
Or do what a bus station kiosk owner did, attached a live cable to the metalwork, that shocked the would be thieves
Only have to remember to disconnect it when you want to go in lol
