From the pic it looks like you have went back to standard pipes If so then go back to the standard 185 main jet and the standard needle position Did you take the emulsion tube out (needle jet nozzle) and the brass ball to clean the air correction jet behind it which feeds air into the needle jet? Steve It's still on the Jolly Moto pipes but I have put both air box snorkels back in and also the balance pipe. Don't remember taking the emulsion tube out and deffo didn't drill the ball out, took out all the jets and used carb cleaner and compressor to clean everything Is the tube a press fit? and any tips on drilling the ball out Cheers Steve

As a bare minimum you need to take the emulsion tube out
Remove the main jet, remove the brass washer, refit the main jet then tap the end of the main jet which will push it into the slide area
For the brass ball you need to care fully drill the large one with a 2mm or so drill bit so it can be pulled out. You will need new 4.5mm brass balls to blank them back off once cleaned behind them

I came across this guide on the air cooled forum. It shows the steps involved to get your balls out, clean behind them and plug the holes with a grub screw. www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=53917.0I also have the same issue as you do, and I'm in the process of gathering the parts needed to do it, and the courage to take a drill to my carbs.

Finally got round to stripping the carb All the jets are standard except the main which is a 190,should be 185 as you know, would this small increase make a big difference and stop the bike revving past 6k?

Just to update this thread. Finally got time to sort my bike. I stripped the carbs and cleaned them again and fitted 185 mains. Fitted new plugs(BR9's) and new non resistor caps. Cleaned the exhausts and repacked the cans. Runs well now.Revs to red line in all gears except 6th,probably still needs a bit of fettling but usable for now
