Ok 125 guru's, got my hands on a 2RH CDI (TZR125) which I am told works fine on the MK3 (YPVS) 125LC
I've wired it how I think it should be;
RD125LC TZR125 wires Brown to brown (switched live) Orange to orange (coil wire) Black to black (earth) Yellow to Yellow (?) --> to YPVS controller Black/Red to red/black (?) --> to YPVS controller Black/white to black/white (kill switch) White/green to white/green (pickup) White/red to white/red (pickup)
---- black/yellow - RPM/tacho feed (not used for RD125LC
I am not getting a spark, so I've tried swapping the pickup wires up, but still nothing, what am I missing ?
Any ideas, or is the 2RH CDI I got duff (despite being told its good ?)

Thanks in advance TZR125 87 2RH wiring is Black = Earth Black/White = B/W Kill Switch Orange = Coil Black/Yellow = Black/Yellow on YPVS Controller, not always on UK models. cheers Rob, think the CDI unit I got is iffy, so back to square one unfortunately How come you're not sticking with Ignitech's Dave? or is this for a cheaper job for someone? I was selling an import with no papers and knew I wouldn't get the right money for it, I was reluctant to provide it with an Ignitech, so tried the TZR CDi and never got a spark either. I'd confidently soldered on an RD plug with nice colour matched shrink tubing as well In the end I used an Ignitech and will use that as a selling point when the time comes. BTW not that it's a big deal, the TZR seems to have a different curve, it's the same shape but lower advance throughout. There's a guy on Facebook who tried to corner the market for TZR CDis years ago to use on RDs, pretends to be an RD expert and tuner but is a complete embarrassment, he was recommending them of course but also giving out a lot of bad advice causing people problems and massive time waste. The RD loom has Red wire /black stripe kill switch and the black wire/white stripe is to the ypvs control box.

I did end up fitting an ignitech, I was loaned a good CDI, the bike ran 11.9bhp as was, I fitted the ignitech ands it ran 18bhp straight off after a quick map set up, so going forward it will be an ignitech everytime if I get a MK3 in with a dodgy CDI I threw the TZR125 CDI in the bin, couldn't get it to spark etc, not sure if it was faulty or the info wasn't correct

I'm running a 2RH CDI, MK3 rd125lc loom, 10w engine/stator. II was told it would never work, but a bit of trail and error and I got it working. There's a load of unconnected connector blocks and bullets but it runs the very best. Do you supply (or can you) expansions for the rd125lc yet muttsnuts
