Hi, I just bought an -84 RD350LC YPVS, 31k, in pieces, and got an extra engine with it. When I measure the bore sizes with a cheap digital gauge I get 63,85 on top and 64,01 at bottom for both cylinders. Should I assume this is due to the cheap gauge?

Standard bore is 64mm, if the measurements are what you say you have then you have some relatively unused barrels, which in itself is unusual and rare particularly for a 1984 bike

Measuring with a vernier caliper at the top will always give a smaller reading as the rings don't travel to the top of the bore so it wears less
For an accurate measurement you would need to check the bore at different point to check taper and oval
Good news that it's on standard size, plenty of meat left

I'll try to find a better gauge for internal measurements. Probably there may be most wear around the ports. Plan on honing before rebore. Cheers!
