I have installed my new YSS shock and I am a bit confused and need some advice please, I am confused by the logic
When adjusting the Spring Preload:
1 Should I set it to the near softest setting as I am under the 13 stone they are factory set up for
or
2 Should I set it to the near hardest setting as I am under the 13 stone they are factory set up for
I read the manual and am none the wiser
Thank you

The lighter you are the softer it should be set. As you sit on the bike the shock should ideally rest around half stroke.

I aim for 1/4 travel on the front suspension when sitting on the bike (static sag) and aim for about the same on the back travel. The preload is to allow for different rider weights and to get full use from your suspension.

Fifty mile ride out last night on new shock. I must say thanks for the tips guys, the bike is much more comfortable and better handling with the new YSS one.

You should run it for a bit and then reset it as well, it will wear in after a few miles.
