Anybody got a MK3 CDI unit they want to sell, or a known good one I could loan to prove beyond doubt that the one on a bike I am working on is fried, I am 99% certain it is, especially since its a known weak point, but the customer isn't convinced (odd stance but there you go)
Alternatively, does anybody know of a good alternative, I know I can get an ignitech unit and fit that, but just wondered if there was other options as 125's aren't my thing !

Dave - what are the symptoms ? i went through this on my Mk3 YPVS and it actually turned out to be really slow because of 1 - my extra weight since i last rode it. 2 - air gap on the pickup was huge. If you don't source one i will lend you mine to try

yeah, it starts ok, but after a few minutes, it coughs, splutters and then stops, won't restart for a good while, check no spark, then it statrts, then same again after a few minutes, its not the stator or low/high side coils etc, they are all fine, both cold and hot, pickup is also fine
Everything else checks out, its the only part I can't test and does smell of CDI issues like the 31K when that starts going, very similar symptoms

Dave, will dig the CDI off the bike this week when back at the lockup for you. It is a full power Mk3 working YPVS yes ?

Dave - 1GU-MO with 66J on the bottom 1 x 5 pin block connector (Orange, green & White, red & white, brown, black) 1 x female bullet (black, white) 1 x male bullet (yellow) 1 x male bullet (red, black)

Dave . the one off the first tzr125, 2rh does the job. dont bother putting another 1gm cdi on it as they are cac. Someome is also making new ones but cost a couple of hundred quid. a used tzr one should be less than 50 bucks and dont give trouble.
