Hello New to the forum, and quite new to LC's apart from owing a 125LC in the 80's.
I have a 1981 Mars Bar 250LC, and am looking to do very mild restoration. I understand some parts are Olive green, of which I think mine seems to be correct including the casing screws, brake pedal, kick start etc. I am confused as I have found two guides than state that the mirror stems should be Olive green (mine are black), but alas I am struggling to find a picture that shows this, including the 3 period brochures I have for the 250LC.
Any wisdom appreciated.
Paul

Welcome. Agree with Steve the mirror stems were black. Lower part of yolk was also olive, as we're engine mount plates.

Hello
I checked my original dealer brochures, one from the UK and one from the Netherlands and they only show the brake & kickstart side of the bike and both of which a clearly black. I wonder if the green was specific to certain countries, mine is a swiss import and both are green.

Are you sure your mirrors are genuine?
They should have a tuning fork on the black plastic

Kickstart and brake lever should be olive
Bottom yoke, twin horn bracket, engine plates and rear footpeg brackets are olive too from memory

So my confusion is still there as the original dealer brochure show both kick start and brake lever as black. I have another brochure on its was and will check that also.

The LC's in the photos on this website are brand new bikes and you can clearly see the factory finishes on most of the parts fitted. www.skills.plus.com/LC/page5.htmlOEB

All the black stem ones yes As far as I've seen only the new 1j7 ones are blank Steve

I will try and take a picture of both brochures Please do, but i fear its just the lighting. They will be green im sure. I tried to take a good picture, and to be honest its not easy to tell and I think you are correct as the shade is slightly different to the black casings. I looked at the RD350LC site and they have a number of brochure photos that I can zoom in on and they are green. Not getting hung up on it, mine are green so that's good enough. I will ignore the 2 references on other sites that state mirror stems are green, which was my original query. Thanks for taking the time in humouring a newbie.... cheers Paul

I would also say that dont trust the brochures as being what the production bikes were, quite often they were pre production bikes and had differences or were for another market. The pics and printing needing to be done before the launch etc.
