I have used them in the past with no problem . A mate of mine had a pair in his Tzr 250 and they served him well . He sold the bike and as far as i know the engine is still going .

Does that mean if you overheat the engine and cook the pistons, you can eat them . Sorry, it is Friday.

I would always try and buy good quality pistons just for peace of mind. But i have used Prox pistons in very demanding situations without failiure. All engine failures I've had have been linked to poor carburation leading to seizures. I have read a few times on this forum that these Prox pistons are also of cheap quality. Now I think honestly about how I would use the engine and weigh up the costs of piston types against use.

I think youre right Tony. So long as the piston is decently made it will be fine, its almost always some other factor that leads to a blow up.
The Taiwan Mitakas I had were horrible things, but the Japanese made ones were fine. However, even the cheap Taiwan cruzinimage units are fine in use, but they are quite nicely made.
Be wary of just sticking OEM (or some other) rings in someone elses pistons, not all are created equal.

I always thought Prox were very good quality ? I had a conversation with Paul at PJME regards different piston manufacturers, and I'm sure he said Prox were very good. I'm sure he will confirm, or otherwise Japanese Mitakas go in all of mine - never had any problems. Dusty

Ron Philips at Fahron provided a pair of Proxx pistons with the 370.
He has been at this game for a long time now and most definitely knows his stuff so I will assume that this particular brand is of a decent quality.

Yep, anything Japanese made is a good rule. More of them are Taiwan made now tho, always check the boxes. I quite like TKR.
