Apologies for the newbie question.
Managed to get hold for a 4LO to restore, at first glance the tank and bodywork don’t look quite right, maybe it’s because of the crap paint job but are there any Yamaha markings/part numbers to show whether they are genuine or reproduction I can look for on them?
Thanks

Lots of tanks have had filler in them over the years to repair dents etc and that sometimes changes shape slightly. You can usually tell by the weight of the tank and with a magnet to gauge how much filler it had.
There are some new decent repro tanks that have slightly sharper angles, but they only been about for maybe 3 years, so unlikely to be that.
If the tank is a really poor fit and quality it could be one of the Indian crap copies that have been about for a while. Hope not for your sake!
As above, a few pics may help.

Added a link to flick...I hope you can see the pics of side panels and bike. Panels have been badly over sprayed and I can’t see any Yamaha wording or part numbers on them which I would have expected. Link below just in case the other one doesn’t work www.flickr.com/photos/193189416@N07/shares/wAz401

The tanks have no markings, stampings or labels on for original and pattern
Side panels...originals had 4L0 and 80 in raised lettering inside on the back of the lower triangle part, some of the pattern ones do too, but the inferior ones do not.

My sidepanels are marked '4L0 80' on inside, so I'm assuming yours are after market as can't see that in your pics.
Can't make my mind up about the tank, it looks to have slightly sharper angles but I think that is probably due to the lighting and lack of decals. A picture of the underside may be more telling.
TBH I wouldn't worry too much unless you are going all to make as original as possible.
