Hi, I would like to put a YPVS engine into my LC, I don't want to swap looms over also. I understand that it is possible to wire in the YPVS to a standard LC loom. Does anybody have a wiring diagram or any info to help, many thanks. Jessy.

Depinds which combination of stator and CDI you are useing. All you need extra is an old LC CDI, cut off the white connector block with 3 wires (orange, black & black/white) on leaving plenty of wire to splice into to connect the CDI to the LC loom. The charging connector from the YPVS is the same, just plug straight in. If you use a YPVS CDI that matches the stator, you only need to splice the orange, black and black/white into the loom with the connector cut from the old LC CDI. The black earth from the stator can go on the spare bullet connector by the indicator relay. Power for the PV controler can be soldered to the left hand lower fuse holder, this is after the fuse so is protected. Use a Drimmel to take back the tinning on it so you can see the copper. Earth with the black wire by the relay or on to the battery. If you use a 52Y CDI, you need to connect the black/white for the kill switch to the red wire on the stator to CDI, as this CDI dosnt have the black/white like the 1UA one. Run a black/yellow to the PV controller from the CDI, best place to put it is in the tail section. You will need to make a small loom to run from the PV controller to the servo motor. Simple solution is Zeeltronic all in 1, but its not cheap at £240, but you only need to mount 1 box. this explains the CDI and stator connections across the range of the YPVS. domlnator.tripod.com/id25.html

I have done it with F2 stator mated to an LC CDI, just to get mine running, although its got too much advance to do more than let it tick over. I have an F2 CDI on its way to me now. What electrics have you got or do you need to get them. If you can get a 52Y CDI, as it isnt over retarded in the top end like the F2 1UA CDI.

I've got both stators, F2 and LC2, I think I'll go for a F2 CDI as I've heard the LC2 is not as reliable. I'll be keeping my eye open for one over the next couple of weeks. It's a project for early next year, the engine is in bits at the minute I'm also busy finishing a 31k project which should be done for christmas. just trying to fit some PWK 28mm carbs which is causing me some stress at the moment. I'll keep you posted. Jessy
