Finally got the brake pedal welded up I've since shaped it a bit better then dropped it off for powder coating along with some other little parts I'd already had the tie bar brackets done so cleaned, stripped and painted the bars tonight ready for fitting Steve

Fitted the tie bars tonight Hoping to drop the bodywork off for painting next week. Decided to make up blanks for the tap and cap so cut an old tap up and blocked up the holes then made up a disc on the lathe to make a cap blank Noticed a couple of small chips in the tank primer (was primed when I got it) so used a little 1k filler on them, I'll flatten tomorrow Steve

Just dropped the body work off along with half a litre of competition yellow solvent base coat
Says he will paint it and give it a coat of clear. Tank will be flattened for me to fit the decals (not looking forward to KR tank decals) before more clear coat
Sides and tail are laminated so not getting over coated
Also said he was really busy so only time will tell when I get them back

Think it's a new record for him lol He must have piled up the bodywork, poured the pain over it and let it run down over it 🤣 Steve

Been a busy boy tonight Flattened the tank back ready for decals then painted the bottom of the side panels satin black Then I took the handlebars off and milled 30mm off them as they were too wide I'd had the switchgear and rear caliper bracket blasted through the week so painted them all satin black Steve

Big boy pants on this morning ready for the tank decals Dear God they are difficult but thank God there is a guide on the image works site You have to fit them a specific way to stop a crease or having to make a cut going into the knee dent They are fitted with the application tape off each stage and it's a bit scary using a heat gun on a decal. You can see it shrivelling as you heat it up to manipulate it First one done, wish me luck for the second 🙏 Steve

Next was on to the front indicator stems Headlight brackets had a 12mm hole but the stems are 14mm with 2 flats so the indicator can only go in the correct position First i marked a horizontal line on them using a spirit level then clamped them onto the mill and elongated the holes 1.1mm in each direction and all sorted Steve

I concur. Decals are a bugger to do and I'm impressed with your use of a heat gun!

Cheers guys
I started with a heatgun on a low setting but soon moved on to the wife's hairdryer as I could get it hot with a low fan speed 🤣
On the Image Work site it says standard LC decals are 8/10 for difficulty and speed block is 11/10 😖
Glad they are done, I've been dreading doing them since I bought the kit last October

Went back to plan A on the brake calipers Paint was actually the B option but that didn't work out Plan A was to ceramic coat them (Cerakote) so out came the compressor, the Cerakote gun, a respirator and a steep learning curve Used C series Glacier Gold so air dry but think it takes about a week to fully cure Looks good but only time will tell how it is when it is dry Steve

Well I'll see what it's like when cured lol
Checked up and its dry in 24 hours but 5 days to fully cure
It's actually satin but hadn't dried off yet in the pic
I'd never even used a spray gun before 🤣
