Hi all thought I'd restart my build thread on here as 'the other site' is still down I'll update with pics as I go along so for now, here's the starting point, a matching frame and engine number 31k YPVS that I bought a couple of weeks after my 40th birthday in June '09, It had been standing in the guys back garden for 9 months, but went straight thro' the MOT without even an advisory ! Now officially called 'project midlife crises'

Hi Graham. It's looking good so far How are you going to fit that Tuono shock as the RGV linkage takes a fork on the bottom mount If you are going to make your own clutch window I have a lump of 6mm lexan left from when I did mine you are welcome to. ;D

seanrd, bryan, I don't have the VJ21 arm tho' only the early and late VJ22 types - the VJ21 looks a little too much like the original
nikfubar, the linkage is part RGV part 31k so lower shock mount still eyelet mount - just needs the bushes dia cored out a bit and some spacers made
jazzyj, headlight is crystal clear, boxed new, comes with bulb too, £20+ postage (I think the colours are from bulb caps over the side light bulbs, i'll check and see if they are in the box too)
I've also got a spare VJ22 banana swing arm, linkage, rear shock, hugger, set of VJ22 usd front forks with yokes, VJ22 rear wheel & disc, 2 sets of rgv front calipers & front m/cyl to sell on, plus a set of ypvs N model clocks with laser cut mount for VJ22 yoke if anyone is looking for anything ?

How much do you want for the vj22 pair of calipers and the master cylinder? I've got the solid banana arm on mine, don't know if that's the early or late one, looks amazing. Only problem is the banjo bolt on rear master cylinder hits it at full compresion so you have to space it out and not gouge it like I did, and that is it jacked up. Got GSXR Nissins and GSXR discs but banjo's a bit tight at mounting bolt so considering changing, that and the bolt for the brake light on the master sheared off. I think the drilled discs look better, just taste I suppose. Steve.

ordered my Trailtech Vapor 'Stealth' clocks and dash today If you run into any problems fitting these give us a shout, you are using the same 6 pot calipers as me. Mines all sorted and works a treat ;D ???was it you, can't remember ::)I was going to make an adaptor for, to fit the M6 thermostat into the head, on the other forum. Old age, memory's shot You will need the wheel circumference to programme into the computer, if you run a 110/70 R 17 it is 1853mm Cheers Nick ;D

If you need an extension cable for the speedo pick up I got one going spare ;D I was going to fit mine to the back wheel like my RSVR but couldn't get the magnet to fit in the wavey disc The last thing I worry about when pulling a wheely is looking at the speedo it's usually sky, ground, ambulance ;D

I'm gonna use the magnetic bolt in the rgv rear disc. If you look up at the sky you will go over backwards ! lol, stay focused on the horizon

Graham This is what I was on about with the banana arm if you don't space out the master cylinder and footrest hanger on a F2 frame. Not sure but assume it's the same for 31K.

bugger.............small issue with the Tuono shock not fitting, bottom bolt/hole arrangement not good, so need to find another any ideas please ? If it's just a matter of opening up the bolt hole ih the shock there is a small engineering firm it Tonbridge that will do it for about a tenner. Every conversion I have seen uses the RGV linkage and either a conversion kit if you don't want to muck about with the frame or new mounting brackets welded on, as I did. There is an optimum distance down and out from the centre of the swing arm spindle to ensure correct operation of the swing arm, on the bottom mount. Does the swing arm have full range of movement with the 31K linkage & still allow the shock to be fitted without fouling. R6 shocks fit, I used the one with the fork bottom mount for the RGV linkage but some years use an eye bottom mount like the 31K shock Sorry I can't be of more help.
