I've done it twice. 2014 on a 1964 50cc Honda , and 2015 on my 1967 BSA. I did the full thing both times, it's a bit of an endurance event and I was knackered afterwards. However it's a great experience and I met lots of nice people and visited bits of the country I'd not seen before. It took very careful on route planning, especially on the 50cc, but you'll be OK on the modern stuff. It's fun, hope you have a great time. I wrote up my 50cc experience here ridingalongwayslowly.blogspot.com/2014/07/my-rally.html?m=1

I may do, done it quite a few times now. Often the overnight one. Tiring but fun. May have a go on the '27 Scott this year, but will have to be daytime only, as no lights.

Guess there are not many if any doing it from here I Can say i definitely wouldn't want to do it on a two stroke either ( 100-200 mile round trip with lots of stops / starts etc ) To much of a gamble. unless you have a mate following you in a Van

I've done the whole 20 hour 600 mile thing on my valve twice. No problems at all.
I've entered for this year.
Not decided on bike or which one to do yet, but I don't need to decide until the day.

Yes you do, but it's OK to change bike. Or lie about it, no ones checking up. Same as the award you go for, decide on the day. In fact due to the way it's being run this Covid year, I think I could do it once on Sat and again on Sun and decide which to own up to.
I've input the Scott, as I may be in with a shout of oldest combined bike & rider, but if I don't use it I'll fess up & tell them what I did use.

I'm home! 175 miles (aprox, no speedo) on the 1927 Scott today, to earn myself a "Chrome" award from the NRR.
Bike didn't miss a beat.
Who needs modern diesels with push-button start and other electrical fripperies like lights.
I'd encourage anyone to have a go. Didn't get wet either, just a 5 minute shower on 2 separate occasions.
