Sometimes I get a hankering for one of these, can’t even see any on eBay, all scam ads.

Get one if you can. I had one new...for 5 days until some b*****d stole it. Handled like nothing else and the acceleration was intense. Plus they look stunning!

Alex The Aprilia is not as small as some 250s which puts it in a class of one really, for me a big plus point. There was one in a bike shop local to where I worked 20yrs ago, standing next to it was enough to be hooked. Prices are soaring though, the non scams that is. Noticed the scams are on nearly everything I look at. So many desirable bikes though, and hard to resist.

Another plus point. Mine was in Chesterfield livery. Stonking! If I could afford one...I'd be looking too. Good luck with the search mate.

A bike that I would probably sell my soul for. Always wanted one and it’s probably the only bike I would make me trade my F2 for. Maybe it’s rose tinted specs as I have never ridden one so would love to hear from those who have both. If you could only have one bike, would it be an RD or RS?

Had an RS in the rainbow livery. Very light and really nice metalwork. Way beyond my riding ability nowadays. Was a bit high for me but I fitted lowering dogbones. A few modern touches such as lap timer on the LCD dash. Fingertip brakes. Prone to frame cracking so look for repairs underneath if inspecting to buy. Engine number is a bit difficult to find hidden at the rear of the cases. Draws a small current when off so needs a battery trickle charger even for a week. I would have another one but not at today's prices. Wait for this upward trend on used prices to flatten or fall then they will go up again over time.

They are a good starting point for a hybrid :-) Just slip a nice YPVS engine in and it becomes a different beast with bottom end grunt.

Awesome bikes the pinnacle of the 250 road reps and physically a bit bigger than the nsr, tzr, but as mentioned very expensive, but I don't remember them being that cheap anyway

I sold my mint RS for 7k about 18 months ago, spent a lot of time and money getting it to perfect condition. But had to be in the mood to ride it. But but back in the day I bought brand new TZR 2MA to proddy race and never had one since and I had a lot of affection for the little Yam. After going to a Past Masters round at Caddy I decided I wanted another. So used the money from selling the Aprilia to find and restore a 2MA, so I now have a mint 2MA with some modern upgrades.
The Aprilia was also a very lovely thing and I realise a generation on from the TZR and it sure was a great looking bike, but my affections were elsewhere and I am more inclined to ride the 2MA than I was the Aprilia. I also have a mint 89 VFR750 and my 370 LC. So a nice selection of toys.
If it wasn't for this covid crap knocking my business badly and would seriously consider one of the new Aprilia RS660
