Love that Morris hotrod, needs some TLC, but I love it, shame I ain't got 8 grand to spare, I would have it in a hart beat, or maybe good job I ain't got 8 grand as it most likely needs another 8 grand spending.

I thought I recognised the number of that 250LC. Checked my files and its one I rebuilt 2014/2015. I sold it for £3850 after the full rebuild, so will be interested to see what it fetches now.

Bangers and Cash is one of my fav TV programmes just now, its on "Yesterday" tonight at 20:00. Another good one is Secrets of the Transport Museum, which is all about Brooklands. Steven. www.freeview.co.uk/tv-guide

Nooo... viewing figures drop.. by one.. marti Someone made a big mistake allowing her to leave....or put it another way...not realising that she was pure gold and how much she was adding to the show ....and how much the show is adding to the business.... Demonstrated in part by her actions.....seen it before....classic shortsighted management...their loss her gain.

I have never seen the show on tv and obviously had no idea of the link with the auctioneers. Just found the site and liked some of the machines up for auction. Need to look out for it now and see what the excitement is all about 😉 John

Hi guys this is my first post!! I’ve put a few vehicles through Mathewsons over the last year or so!! Mk1 golf , Tvr350 ect I asked them to auction my 1988 vw polo bread van in great condition and Derek said “it’s not special enough” also I was lucky enough to own a foggy Petronas FP1 and they said it wasn’t for them?? Not for there kind of clients.. They are getting picky on what they sell Ie not enough commission? I will carry on browsing your great site drooling at some of your fantastic blue smoking machines.. Hope to catch up with some of you in the future 👍

Had the misfortune to drive many 60s minis, my sister had a new one in 83ish. They must have improved them, surely? No, same crap. Everyone to their own though.

Im with you on that, used to really p1ss me off having to work on them and then having to drive them. With a historic loathing of minis I hate to admit it but I once had one of the modern BMW minis as a loan car and it was actually quite good fun to drive

It is early (pre year reg), has sat untouched next to the road since new, rotting away.

Noooooooooooooooo Spectacular little motors. Yup... spectacularly shite. As most of the cars of that day were.... It great fun to see the twerps reminiscing looking at a vehicle. Downward peering, with hands in pockets, remembering all the rust holes and plastic padding, all the times the t**t broke down with water on the distributor, all the times it broke down with something else, waxoiling the underside every month in a vain attempt to keep the ever progressing rust at bay (futile). Now where are those pink spectacles?....Probably with my reading glasses.... feckin bords again.

Disagree, best car I ever owned my Mini Cooper s sports pack. It was fun, are they any different to owning an Lc?

Yep. Nothing like either an LC or proper Mini is made today.
Probably the spiritual successor to the Mini Cooper is some of the sooped up Japanese K cars. A mile apart though.

The old argument was that they were brilliant at the apex of a corner, it’s just that they were slow getting there and even slower leaving. It put me off as a passenger, yes they could out corner most things but at the limit, things could and did go spectacularly wrong. Preferred driving fiat 126’s, at least they have suspension. Also worked in a garage and as a junior would get the sub-frame replacement job, my son somehow loves them and covets a pick-up project that I know of???
