Hi all. cooool site. just bought an LC 350 ypvs f2 (1988) and not knowing a hell of a lot about these, i need a bit of advice. my question is.....when looking at the two frame rails under the seat looking from the back towards the tank, are both the frame rails supposed to be straight and true up to the fuel tank or is the left rail supposed to have a bend in it about six inches from the fuel tank. the right hand rail is straight up to the fuel tank. the bike is in very good condition and is not recorded on any register. i'm really hoping i have'nt bought a lemon. Any advice / info on this matter will be much appreciated. Thanks all, Gadget.

I'd never noticed it before, but mine's the same as yours! Either we're both in trouble or you have got nothing to worry about. I think the latter Oh, and welcome. Great choice of bike I hope it's black ;D

Hi peeps, many thanks for the info, that's put my mind at rest i can tell you... I think my seat rails might be a little out though, coz i can't get the mudguard to line up central to the wheel, the previous owner did say he had a low side coming off a round-about so that may be the cause. I might invest in a trip to motoliner for a bit of jiggery pokery, followed by a nice new coat of original paint. Apparrently they can get the frame straighter than when it came from the factory (manufacturing tollarences taken in account). scruff, yes it is black. I'm going to keep it standard looking save for a pair of stainless gibsons when funds permit. Thanks once again guys.

hi mellow, yep canterbury, so not a million miles away. Been talking to them today, bends they can straighten out, kink marks to the tubes they can't make dissappear which is a bugger coz i just found a couple of fairly deep ones (right in the line of sight). With the costs involved in getting it there, straightening and then fill the divvets and repaint it might be a better bet to find a good straight frame to start with and do a total rebuild. Anyone got a mint f2 frame with v5 they want to part with? Cheers all.

hi mellow, yeah, small world indeed. motoliner say my frame is going to be a doddle to sort , they reckon they've seen worse come straight from the dealers, (christ..what dealer was that?) turns out i'm being paranoid, it's going to be a 10 minute job. yehaaa. think i'll have it wet painted though, i prefere the factory look of the original paint finish. got my eye on some NIKKON or LOMAS pipes, just got to get my balls out of the wifes purse along with the cash and go and get them !

Cheers fellas, had a bad experience with a supposedly 'good' powder coaters a while back, frame looked like it had been done with a trowel. i suppose it depends on who you use or knowing someone who has used and can recommend a decent firm. There are a couple of coaters near me so i'll go and see some of their work before i commit to having it done. ( sorry for all this frame crap guys, i seem to have hi-jacked my own thread).
