I went to connect my YPVS cables back on to my rebuilt engine only to realise one of the cables had previously broken and been repaired. This resulted with it being too short to properly adjust the valve. I'm looking on Fowlers for a replacement, link below but it's not clear if this part number is for 1 cable or both of them. I suspect it's just one but I was wondering if anybody has ordered these cables before and knows how many you get? www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/view/29L-1133E-00

That is one unfortunately 😠Steve That's what I was fearing. I have seen that Venhill has them listed in stock for £15, I'm just shocked that Venhill is the cheaper option. Has anyone used the Venhill versions?

Yes, i have, i have one set (standard length) and one set custom made to a specific length (2 different YPVS's), both are great, Venhill offer a pretty good service HTH Mouse

One of my venhils pulled its nipple off (can i say that on a family forum?) after a few turns. I only buy OEM now, twice the price but they dont have loose nipples.

I got 4 Venhill ones, via Norbo. They were all different lengths. Once returned (at my expense) to Venhill, they were fixed and then OK.

Thanks for the input After a lot of back and forth between Venhill's lower cost and local collection today vs Fowlers OEM quality and delivery on Thursday at twice the price, I have gone for OEM. At least a good friend of mine has a trade account with Fowlers so I can get a 20% off the web site price.

Hi I’ve got a cable which is new which I brought for my F2 which is too short so I presume it’s for a different ypvs model without fairing

After all that, it turns out that Fowlers only have 1 in stock . Looks like I will be heading to Venhill's at lunch time and tacking an old cable with me to make sure it's the correct length.

The trouble I had with the ebay items was the delivery times seemed to be very long and I've been put off buying them because of the shocking quality of throttle cables I've brought in the past. The Venhill cables also come with the rubber boots on them, so the extra cost seems worth while. Fortunately I live 30mins away from Venhill so I was able to pop round there and collect them during my lunch break. I can now get on with putting my bike back together after work today.
