Anyone dealt with extreme trading at Norwich? Any feedback would be appreciated regards colin I bought my RGV250 VJ21 off him in 2016. He was (probably still is) based in the Norfolk Broads area. he advertised the bike on Ebay for £2,200 and enquire re. delivery. I asked how much to deliver to Hull and he said I'll deliver it for that so I said O.K and paid a £100 deposit I think. He arrived on the weekend and wheeled it down the ramp. A little bit sun bleached and with a few scratches but exactly as I expected and only 4,500 km from new. Exactly the same as that brand new black one that's been doing the rounds except it was a lot cheaper and not brand new! He spent about an hour in our kitchen with a coffee and biscuits chatting about his business and bikes in general. He told me he was involved in the grey import market back in it's hey-day but drifted off into house renovations. He said that he didn't enjoy the house thing and it was a lot of money to lay out and a slow turn around so he went back into the bike trade. He was telling me about his containers in Japan and the UK full of RD500's, RC30's and NR750's! Very interesting nice guy. We could have talked all day. He was supposed to be dropping off another bike in Newcastle that day but the buyer had cancelled or called it off so he made the trip just for me. I've done a few track days on the bike which is mainly what it was bought for and other than a bit of tank rust blocking the carbs a couple of times it's ran fine and was tested at 50.7hp which is probably about right for an early RGV straight from Japan. I don't believe the early JDM ones are restricted that just have less power than the later ones. Then I slung it down the track at Cadwell in 2019 and I've not ridden any bike since but that was operator error not the bikes fault. His prices look to be a bit on the high side lately but I would have no problem buying from him again myself

Seriously? There is only one answer to that question and I'm sure you know what that is When I bought my VJ21 he also had a TZR250 3XV that he wanted £2,200 for, that was a green one. Trouble was it had a non-working engine. I can't remember if it was seized or what but I did the sums and I worked out that they were going for about £4,000 to £4,500 and that left about £2,000 for and engine rebuild. Worst case crank and re-plate. I still regret not buying it. The conversation with the Mrs. would have been: "How much?" "and the engine is knackered!!!??." "are you simple or something?"

Never met him, but my mate has and he said the same as Steve, he's seen inside his warehouse and he said it's jaw dropping. Apparently he's a pretty straight bloke, he's open about these bikes being his retirement plan and he said he watches the market and drops bikes on there when there aren't many advertised, basically drip feeding to keep margins reasonable. My mate reckoned his bikes were as described and not tarted up or covered in WD40 to make them look better - which is refreshing because that seems to be what most people do. I'd buy a bike from him. Buy the RGV and sell the N1 back to me for what you paid me for it, lol

He's a friend of a friend (friend was a copper in Norfolk), friend says he's alright, has loads of bikes that he gradually trickles into the market to avoid dropping the prices. I suspect he's one of the blokes that started Seastar Superbikes when they were in Pulham Market and selling grey imports.

He told me about the RD500's but it was a year or more before I saw any of them up for sale. Turns out he had some! My RGV hadn't had anything much done to it but it did run. I think he said the carbs had been cleaned and fresh petrol put in. I guess he needs to know if it's a runner or not. I did 9km on it up the road and back then took it to Cadwell. It smoked a lot at first but was fine after a few laps. A bit of rust came through from the tank and blocked the carb sock filters making it go onto one. I've de -rusted the tank and done a few track days on it since. Not done anything with the engine at all but new plugs.
