Hi guys need some help advice if possible Been looking through threads on PKW 28mm carbs and was stuck on a couple of points? 1. on the right-hand carb where the vacuum pipe is why do you have to remove the brass spigot and drill to fit a 6mm new spigot for the 2 stroke auto lube oil ?? can you not just put auto lube pipe direct to the one that's already there [see photo} I know I will have to mod the other one lol 2. on the chokes what cables fit them so I can use them? Hope that makes sense 20210328_113141 by alan foster, on Flickr

Best to have identical spigots on both sides
I'm sure I used tzr cable ends for the chokes

Ok that makes sense about the spigot, pitty I could not get the same for the other side no biggie though lol
Got a set of cheap chinkey ones which have a pull-up choke that fit perfect however they don't stay up you have to hold them both
Any photos of the TZR ends Steve ?
Cheers Alan

It's fiddly to get to the RH choke if pull ups fitted. I fitted generic cable chokes, from a scooter shop I think, RG or RGV or similar lower cable and a R6 upper cable, and R6 LH switch gear. Looks factory and has the convenience of handlebar operation. Took a bit of fiddling to get the cable right, and make a conversion loom for the switchgear, but that was years ago & still enjoying the benefits today.

To be honest it will start with only the left choke pulled. I ran like that for ages. Tzr 250, tdr 250 and even rd500 use a lever mounted on left side of frame with cable operated chokes Think I used an xz550 left switch which has a lever on it. If you look at 31k left switch there are 2 threaded holes for the choke lever to bolt to I then bought a venhill universal throttle cable and made it fit Steve

As said works perfectly fine starting on just the left Carb choke, up to you if you want to bother fitting levers and cable to actuate the right choke, its nit something that's bothered me enough to do it.

It's not a problem at all with the right carb pull up choke
Way I start it is both chokes up and soon as it revs I knock the left off to lower revs then right side off
Only thing is the pull up chokes are either fully on or off

Only thing is the pull up chokes are either fully on or off That's the main reason I fitted the cable and lever Lets say mine is a little on the loud side 😬 Starting and letting it idle at 4000 revs was a bit too much Now I put the lever at half, start it, knock it back to 1/4 and it will happily pull away The other reason was for the challenge.
