Hi all, I have just started my powervalve for the first time since rebuild and apart from the usual amount of smoke when l switched it off the carb overflow pipes poured fuel out. I know l need to set the carbs up but l didn't expect that and the amount that came out any thoughts?

Sticking floats probably. Give the side of carb a good tap with a smaller hammer to see if it reseats.

Could it also be the vacuum tap not working properly?

If you run pre-mix, it can also be oil residue in the float valve.
Either way, if it does not sort it self out, just take the carbs apart and clean/check the needle valve and seat are all good and clean.

you not got it on prime have you?, if so, switch to ON or RES, if its still weeping (assuming its a vacuum tap type), then your tap is knackered, which PV version is it, as that might help narrow down which type of petrol tap is fitted

Thanks guys l am going for another play. I know this will sound stupid but i assume the vacuum pipe just feeds down behind the swing arm and doesn't reconnect somewhere else. Always told there isn't such a thing as a dumb question but l am guessing this is pretty close LOL
