Hi my 31k started spluttering badly at hi rpm so i checked the spark plug gap and it was a massive 60 thou on both plugs ,i then set the gap to 28 thou and it has had an reverse effect splutters badly at low rpm but runs better at hi rpm ,so then i set it to 40 thou but dose not feel happy any suggestion

New plugs? Might be an issue with your current plugs. I’d also check plug caps whilst your in that area 👍🏻

Don’t assume you have one problem! Often confusing problems turn out to have two or more components. Gap. Is one thing, no reason to be set any different to spec. But how did it get to 80? Burnt electrode or electrode droop? Engine running lean/hot ?
the plugs will be trying to tell a story...post a pic if you want comment
