With genuine clocks being very hard to find and extremely expensive if you do find some, has anyone found an alternative set of clocks from another model that are more readily available and not too much trouble to fit and get working?

I hated the drive cables. I wanted to have digital speed display because the radar trapps in NL. So I ordered a cheap china clock. Works for 3 years now.

If you can find the 2 clock looms you can use the N model clocks with a bit of soldering 😁 Also very easy with the looms to fit LC clocks Done it loads of times Steve

I have the ones in the bottom pic on my lc2 ypvs, not sure if there true to the bike or not, they work fine apart from the low oil light which is on all the time when in neutral, then goes off when you put it in gear, all 3 clocks are good but the body is rough, looks like they have been crashed at some point. Has anyone transplanted their clocks into a different housing from a fzr or fazer maybe.

RD125LC Mk3, cost me £60 for the set, they're a bit faded but look okay, you have to drill the mounting bolts out of the mounting frame otherwise they sit too high.
I've been looking for a set of kidney clocks, but you won't get any for under £200, and they'll be tatty at that price.

It's so you know the bulb hasn't blown.

Correct
Lc2 has a 3 wire sender so is triggered when sender says low and when the bike is in neutral as you say to show the bulb works
Later bikes were 2 wire sender so never came on with neutral but would light for a few seconds when switched on then fade out
Annoyingly on these the sender goes duff so the light then fade function stops working even though the float works fine and the lamp still operates when low

Yes it has 3 wire sender, light goes off when In gear, not tested the low oil function yet, the tank is nearly full.
