Hi, when people talk about machining the sprocket carrier where is the material being removed from? Also is there a carrier for a TZR that is narrower than a 1KT?

What people are talking about is taking material of the mounting face of the sprocket to move it inwards.
There’s plenty of meat on a 1WT carrier to do this. From memory my 1WT one had 8mm off? Could have been 5mm?

Thanks jon, do you know if this can be done in a lathe, or does it have to be milled?

Better in a lathe than milling. Would need a CNC mill and complicated to program. Much quicker and easier in a lathe eithe conventional or CNC.
Did a YPVS one recently in my lathe.

The complication of the 1kt one is it has studs in it that would need removed

Hi Steve they come out easy enough with 2 nuts locked together and a blowtorch.
The studs needs shortening too.
I have one in my LC/TZR hybrid. 3.5” rear wheel with offset front sproket and machined carrier.

With stock lc2swinger i put in a belgarda szr660 wheel in. Instead of offset frontsprocket i changed the chain line. This has been done with a lathe.

I did the same as Marrcel to my 4LO. It uses standard front sprocket.

I use a 4FL rear wheel with a 1KT sprocket carrier which has been machined down in a standard 4L0 swingarm. I used disk bolts instead of studs and nuts for the sprocket.
