One of the clips on my fuse box is broken. Someone has replaced it with a modified blade connector but it just floats around loose in the box. Looking for a good solution to either fix it or replace it. I don’t see that the fuse box as being available for a 4Lo and it’s wired directly into the loom anyway.

Fuse boxes are available !? I had to buy a handful of Glass type Fuse holders from Mouser (~1$ each ;-) Then cannibalize them for their metal fuse holder tab bits to retrofit into the Old Yama fuse box case. Worked / looked same as OEM

Hello,
I have had this happen and soldered the fuse to the remains of the clip. My 4L0 never blew a fuse, so it was a good fix.

Not sure if it’s fleabay or shambits but I bought a pattern one for I think an air cooled just to get the clips which I then soldered into my box. Ideally I would have bought the clips but couldn’t find them on the net?

Ideally I would have bought the clips but couldn’t find them on the net? I ended up finding the clips and only 10usd to ship so now I'm going to look for a replacement for the fuse box itself.

Just had a quick butchers on fleabay and this is what I probably bought. It was a while ago. If you were closer I’d have given you the fuse box as I didn’t need it.

Does the 31k wiring not exit the bottom instead of the side?
They have dried up after yuniparts wound down
I just bought any one I could find and Every time I break a clip just cut one out the donor box and solder it in where needed

I’ve decided to convert it to blade style fuses. I’m having friend 3D print a new base modelled after the original box.

Always worth buying up some old Yam looms of the era, doesnt need to be our bikes to get much the same connectors etc

Now got to get it mounted on the bike with some kind of strain relief on the cable.

Printed in Onyx (nylon 6 with chopped carbon fibre with reinforced continuous fibre Kevlar around the holes and outer edges) Dont suppose you can print another? Im doing the same and it looks like I even bought the same fusebox as you. When I got round to it, I was going to fabricate bracket out of ali. One of the things I found with the blade fuseboxs were they were a lot deeper so quite tight on the side panel. Does yours work ok?

I haven’t tried it on the bike yet with the side cover on. 🤞 A friend of mine printed it at work as a favour (actually a bottle of rum). Best I could do is try and get you the file. Let me see if it all fits together.

Thanks but I'll try something out of ali. When I measured with the slimmest fusebox I could find, it looked like I would still have to move it off centre on the bracket to get the side panel on)

Beware chaps there are folks about ,and i know who say . Only original for us . I did the same sort of modification on an air cooled rd250e and came up against this sort of closed thinking.Good luck with your quest .I have been thinking of doing the same with my lc . Blade fuses are surely more widely available than old fashioned glass ones . If you cant fit the fuse box behind the panel may be under the seat area/ tail light area .

Cheers, mines already been modified to have 'loose' blades under the seat so I'm kinda putting it back to having a fusebox. And Ive just had a load of grief with the glass fuse connections on my AC so I see blades as a good upgrade. My LC is never going to be one for the rivet counters!
