Just wondering what most people do over the winter months when their bikes are laid up , do most start them and run up to temp on a regular basis or just turn them over on the kicker every once in a while ??

Turn mine over on the kicker to keep things lubed.
You'll never get it all up to temp without riding it, so condensation issues I'd rather do without.

I think the owner benefits more from starting them up than the bike..Just follow the instructions in the Yamaha manual.
Good piece in this months practical sportsbike magazine about possible condensation damage caused by a Winter bike worrier.

I remember seeing on one of Allen Millyard's videos that he would never start a bike unless it was going to be ridden for at least 7 miles. I can't remember the reason for this but at the time it sounded like a good thing. All I do with my bike is pump the kick starter a couple of times to move things around inside and give it a good shake to make sure the petrol, with a bit of 2 stock oil in it is spread around the tank to stop it rusting.

I have one working bike (not actually mine) and that thing never gets a chance to be winterised. I ride it as often as I can!
