Hi Gents
I’m new to this site. Does anyone know who can repair the mounting lugs on my F1 fairing without wanting to do the painting. I don’t know which method is the better, plastic weld or fibre glass? Your opinions would be most appreciated.

never ever use fibreglass on plastic. I never understand why people come to the conclusion its the way to repair plastic. It wont stick properly, its not the right product.
Plastic weld or Wurth replast etc. Have a search on here for other threads about repairing plastic panels.
Could we have an intro from you? tell us about your bike etc.

Without wanting to OR without needing to repaint....................to do it properly you'll need it repainting afterwards I'm afraid.

It’s just the repair work I require doing because I’m not able to plastic weld and I’m sorted for the paint work. I forgot to mention that I live in the Stoke on Trent area but I’m will to post the parts if there’s no one near by.

I have a ZXR400 with a fairing that's been fibreglass 'repaired.' It's probably going to have a full fibreglass track fairing so it's not a problem for me. Saying that I have done it! My mates proddy 31K. He smashed the top fairing and loads of it was missing so I put some aluminium strips across the gap and fibreglassed it. In my defence we were all skint, he was going to smash it again and our kid got me the fibreglass sheet and stuff for nothing.

Fibreglass has always worked for me. Give it a good roughing up first. But I’m not precious about my panels.

Easy enough to do if you put your mind to it as I said, here is a post i did a while back in the 'what did you do today' thread: Box arrived from my mate in WA... Cheers Howard. Set to work repairing the top fairing with a broken arm... Just a bit of filler and she'll be right as we say here, nice and springy and no cracking, a good few hours of work but worth it.
